It's been quite a while since I updated this blog, but felt like enough has happened recently that an update is due. I've been busy following all the recent events with the economy and of course I watch Obama's speeches when they happen. This past one inspired me to not only create some stuff around the whole "nobody messes with Joe" slogan, but also made me start a new blog devoted to all the products that end up being created when events like that happen.
My most recent blog is about another seemingly popular topic that comes around this time of year. I remember last year, Irish Obama stuff was all over the place during St. Patrick's Day. I don't see things slowing down in regards to this love of both green beer and Obama, so I wrote an article on Barack Obama's St. patrick's Day t-shirts. It's interesting that on the site I use for all my designs, "Obama Irish t-shirts" are the very first thing you see on their St Patricks Day t-shirts page. He's got to be poplular if he's getting that much attention. It makes me with I had designed some shamrock'ed out designs myself. Maybe next year :/
In other news, I think Obama's first 4 days of being in office were sensational. There were so many reversals of Bush's laws that happened in such a short period of time that it was amazing to witness. The fact that he jumped in and changed things right off the bat makes me think more and more that he's got an idea of the direction he wants to take things toward. I think Bush not only lacked direction, but with what direction he had, he was poorly misguided.
Obama's Change.gov is also another major shift in the way of government. There's something truly beneficial to having all the expenses of government in the close scrutiny of the eyes of its citizens. My only hope is that not only do they keep the information public, but that they also make a way to comment and/or submit feedback on various expenses. I have a feeling the large US population will be able to spot waste more efficiently than a handful of people in the whitehouse.
I'm going to try to update this more often as I get the time, but until then, I wish everyone who reads this the best in these crazy times.

I had quite a bit of fun during this past election process making t-shirt designs. Designers everywhere were inspired by Obama and there weren't any shortages of designs out there to show your support with. I was half tempted to buy one of the official limited edition shirts by Pharrell Williams that I saw on this site a while back. Anyways, I wanted to share my favorite t-shirt designs inspired by Barack Obama. It's a short list of shirts but they're all top notch designs.
In no particular order...
Since I just mentioned it... The Pharrell Williams t-shirt design:

OBAMA FOR AMERICA
In the months and years ahead, we're going to accomplish amazing things together. No president has ever had the support of such a powerful grassroots movement, and Barack and Joe will need you to continue fighting alongside them. But before we take the next step, we need to get our house in order. The DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE poured all of its resources into building our successful 50-state field program. And they played a crucial role in helping Barack win in unlikely states like North Carolina and Indiana. We even picked up an electoral vote in Nebraska. The DNC took on considerable debt to make this happen. Make a donation of $30 or more now to help the DNC pay for these efforts, and you'll get a commemorative 2008 Victory T-shirt.
The DNC began building a 50-STATE ORGANIZATION in 2005. The infrastructure they put in place over the last four years opened up a new batch of battleground states where a Democratic nominee hadn't been competitive for a generation. In the final few months, the DNC went above and beyond to expand our ground efforts and ensure victory. We couldn't have won this election without their support. As we start laying the groundwork for real change, we need to help the DNC recover the resources it took to win. Please make a donation today and get your 2008 Victory T-shirt. This movement for change is just getting started, and we look forward to working with you to bring the change this country needs. Thanks for everything you did to elect Barack and Joe,
So far I've raised $1,500 for the Obama campaign via my "South Side for Obama" personal fundraising page, which includes all of the proceeds raised from the sales of more than 200 SS4O T-shirts. Thanks to everyone that bought one, and if you'd still like to donate, please click here!

I wanted to let everyone know about a range of t-shirts I have designed in support of Barack Obama in the UK... As a UK citizen I unfortunately cannot vote on November 4. However, after having lived in the States for a couple of years, I was keen to somehow get involved in the movement and this is my way of contributing to the campaign and spreading Obama's message. The t-shirts are available at www.barackobamatshirts.co.uk and are priced at £16.99 (I will hopefully generate enough sales in order to cover my costs - I do not anticipate making any money from this venture). I am encouraging customers to make an optional donation in the region of £5 / $10 through the official campaign website (Please note that as I understand it, only US citizens are allowed to donate). I hope that you like the designs and that this is of real interest to all you Obama supporters in the UK! Go Barack! Steve UK Barack Obama T-Shirts
There's a state law regulating what you can wear to the polls. If you wear anything that displays the likeness of a candidate, you will be turned away from the polls on November 4, Election Day.
The law was designed to keep candidates or parties from interfering or distracting voters during the voting process. So that means campaign signs, buttons, hats, t-shirts, lapel pins, bracelets, that endorse any candidate is not allowed within 40 feet of an entrance to a polling place.
I signed up with the Grassroots Finance Committe to raise $1,000 for Barack. Right now things are goving very slow. So I'm working on three different ways I might be able to raise the money.
1) Sell t-shirts. If you're interested in purchasing one of my shirts use this link: http://gearup4obama.googlepages.com/home
2) I plan to make and sell College Survival kits to students at our local university at their annual homecoming on Oct 10-12. Kits will include things college students can use as well as Obama stickers, buttons, and voter information.
3) I'm going to set up a fundraiser event similar to the Postcard event. The difference will be that I will send out note cards to 25 individuals and ask them to donate to the campaign.
Does anybody have any other ideas that may have worked for them?

That's right. I don't think Obama could have made a better choice for his running mate and to help him through his presidency. With that being said, not just is Joe Biden my Homeboy, but he's my homeboy's homeboy!

This is a copy of an e-mail sent to the members of Sunnyvale for Obama on July 15, 2008.
Hello Sunnyvale for Obama!
A lot has happened since the last time I e-mailed you all! The Unite for Change barbecue was a huge success with over 85 people in attendance! And Sunnyvale for Obama now has 35 active members working on nine different project teams—fundraising, voter registration, blogging, phone-banking, community service . . . you name it!
It’s great that we have so much happening in this area. Your tremendous enthusiasm will be invaluable over the next four months as polls show that Sen. Obama currently trails Sen. McCain in projected Electoral College votes. We have a lot to do to turn that around, and of course we can! Many of you remember that Sen. Obama was way behind in the polls at some points in the primaries, and he proved that with grassroots support like ours, he could get his message out and win. It’s time to prove it again!
So please be on the look-out for communications from your team leaders about the work you’ll do--and fun you’ll have!--on the movement for change.
IF YOU HAVEN’T SIGNED UP FOR ANY TEAMS YET, or if you’re new to the group, please see the relevant items in the table of contents, below, so we can get you informed and involved! (The group is open to anyone in the area, not just Sunnyvale residents.)
Also, please be alert for a notification about the next general meeting. We'll be having one soon!
In addition to e-mailing this, I’m going to post it to our group’s blog on our web page, accessible here: http://my.barackobama.com/page/group/SunnyvaleCitizensforObama
Here’s a table of contents for this e-mail:
1. Results of Unite for Change BBQ on June 28
2. Update on Cristiana’s Unite for Change house party
3. New member meetings (open to anyone in the area, not just Sunnyvale residents)
4. How to sign up for project teams
5. How to stay informed about Sunnyvale for Obama activities
6. Sen. Obama’s newest speeches—patriotism and national security
7. Sunnyvale for Obama’s beautiful t-shirts!
8. Anti-swiftboating for Obama—fight the smears

For some of us what I'm going to say is second nature but it bears reminding ourselves...
It's great to wear Obama shirts/buttons and put Obama stickers on our cars. Just remember that when you do so, you're going to be seen by the public as a representative of the Obama campaign. So suddenly your driving and your behavior in public will be reflect on the campaign in the eyes of others.
